Softly of Childhood
2022
5.5' ft x 3 ft x 4.5 ft
Stiffened fabric, Tule, Buttons, Paper, Balloons, Yarn
Inspired by my childhood, specifically a colorful memory and photograph of a Playdoh creation, this soft sculpture is a representation of additive play. When I was little I would create things and continuosly add to them until they morphed into something new. In the same way I played, creating new parts daily and without plan, doodling in 3D space to make this large piece.

Garden of Paradise
2022
8.25 ft x 4.5 ft x 4 ft
Carpet Liner, Cut up thrifted clothes, Branch
Based on the symmetricity of organic forms on a textile swatch called "Gardens of Persia," this piece has a mirrored balance and repitition of knotted fabric that replicates the natural form. Utilizing thrifted materials and referencing homecraft in both medium and making- multiple people assisted in knotting- Garden of Paradise points to the paradise of communtiy and craft that is the backbone of natural connection.

Ghost of Franklinia
2022
9ft x 7.5ft x 7ft
Sheer fabric, black velvet, branch
The ghosts of what is lost surrounds us. Throughout history human interference has caused the mass catastrophic loss of flora and fauna. In an homage to the extinction of the Franklinia Tree, I replicated the blossoms in erthereal translucent fabric, and placed the blossoms in a pool of this fabric which flows from barren branch to a solemn black portal of velvet.
